DAN PAVIOLO
Dan is co-owner of SoCal Performing Arts Academy. He is an exceptionally accomplished musician and teacher. His passion is helping people find their musical talents and gifts and expressing them in performance and sessions. Dan, along with Kal founded OC Performing Arts in Brea, CA, providing music lessons since 2000. Dan holds a degree in music from MIT, an Associate's degree in Technology, a Bachelor's degree in Business and an MBA. Dan has been a professional musician for over 30 years and teaches Bass Guitar, Guitar, Ukulele and Piano. Dan loves playing music, watching films and grilling gourmet food.
KAL PAVIOLO
KAL PAVIOLO
Kal is co-owner of SoCal Performing Arts Academy. She is certified in Music Theory from the Music Teachers Association of California. Kal studied piano for 12 years, and voice for over 18 years. Kal also holds an Associates Degree in Economics, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Leadership, and a Master Degree in Business Administration. Kal has been a professional musician touring all over the world, and has been teaching music for twenty years. She has also been in several musical productions throughout her lifetime, such as "Fiddler on the Roof", "Oklahoma", "A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum", "Bye, Bye, Birdie", and "Once Upon A Mattress". She was part of the Southern California Show Choir known as "The Musical Americans." Kal has directed over six musicals, and along with Dan has produced over 10 musicals. Dan and Kal started OC Performing Arts to share their love of music and theatre. her goal is "Changing The World... One Performance At A Time!"
MARI CARIN
MARI CARIN
Mariel Carin primarily grew up in small town Menifee, California, where she found a passion for voice and guitar. Ever since the age of 13, Mariel has performed competitively in local talent shows around the Inland Empire area and even composed a couple of original pieces along the way. While attending California State University San Marcos, Mariel has strived within the Music department, being taught vocally by the Opera Prodigy, John Craig Johnson. Similar to Craig’s philosophy in teaching, she teaches to discover one’s ability to sing and express freely in any genre they pursue. Her specialty is in pop, r&b, musical, acoustic and jazz. After graduating with a BA in Music, Mariel continues to teach music vocal lessons, while pursuing her own dream of being a well-known singer/songwriter.
RYAN PORCHAS
RYAN PORCHAS
Ryan Porchas is a violinist and graduate from California State University Northridge with his Bachelor’s Degree in Violin Performance/Orchestral Strings where he studied with Lorenz Gamma, head of strings at CSUN, Roberto Cani, concert master of the LA Opera, and Benjamin Jacobson, founder of the Calder Quartet. He has also studied with international artists Stefan Jackiw, and Nancy Zhou, and Mark Kaplan, professor of violin at the Indiana Jacobs School of Music. Ryan has been playing the violin for 16 years and has had a variety of performance experience, with notable performances at Carnegie Hall and Walt Disney Concert Hall with the Southern California Youth Philharmonic, and at the Soraya with the Northridge University orchestra. Accompanying these experiences are additional performances as a duet with two violins, playing with various chamber groups, extensive studio work, and playing as a soloist. Ryan has a unique love for the instrument also having studied instrument maintenance and repair and provides instrument consultations to students advising them how to choose a proper instrument for them. Teaching his own studio of students, some of which reside across the country, Ryan has successfully aided his students with a variety of goals. Some of which include acceptance into the music programs of his alma mater California State University Northridge, acceptance to all state orchestral programs on the east coast, and acceptance to honor orchestras on the west coast. Being a graduate of many prestigious summer music festivals such as the Idyllwild Arts Academy, Sounding Point Academy at the Colburn School, Emerald Coast Chamber Music Festival and Institute, and most recently the Online Solo Strings Intensive, Ryan has a great deal of experience with advancing students to a high level and helping them achieve their goals great or small. Ryan was issued his Certificate of Merit by the Music Teacher’s Association of California in 2017 and has been a certified teacher since the age of 17. Having created a personalized curriculum, Ryan will always tailor lessons to the individual needs of the student based on their experience whether they are a beginner, intermediate, or more advanced player.
